What Do I Need To Know About Shipping My Woodwork?

Architectural Woodwork can range in scope from a couple of pilasters for a fireplace mantel surround to more elaborate coffered ceilings and wainscoting for a library. The method of transit depends on the item as well as the overall weight of the order.

LuisLynzie™ ships items through two primary methods of ground tranport - parcel package and common carrier LTL. An item's description will indicate the primary method of transit. As a general rule of thumb:

  • Columns and Ceiling Beams under 96" in length or shipments under 200lbs. generally ship via UPS Ground
  • Wainscoting kits and coffered ceiling kits or other heavy shipments generally ship through UPS Freight.

Shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, other offshore locations and remote locations may require a third party service. Please ask an authorized dealer for details.

Cross-border shipments to NAFTA partners, Canada and Mexico, are typically shipped via the same ground methods as the US domestic ground shipments mentioned above.

International air and ocean freight (other than Canada and Mexico) is generally consolidated using a freight forwarding service. For further information on international shipments, please read more.

Every effort is made to safeguard your order in transit. The final step in ensuring a successful shipment is performing an inspection. All shipments delivered via parcel post such as UPS Ground should be inspected within 24 hrs. of delivery. All shipments delivered via common carrier such as UPS Freight must be inspected upon delivery. Be sure to annotate indications of damage and/or missing units on both copies of the delivery receipt. Please call your authorized dealer for questions regarding thier shipment policy.

In the unlikely event that your architectural woodwork arrives damaged, please notify the shipping company and authorized dealer immediately. For common carrier LTL deliveries (i.e. UPS Freight) It is critical to note all damages and shortages on both copies of the delivery receipt.
